St. Luke's Cross ministry has been an ongoing outreach ministry for several years. The simple goal is to make and give away wooden crosses painted with the words "JESUS IS LORD" on them.
Anyone can take a cross and place it at the end of their driveway, in a flower bed, at the cemetery by a loved one's grave, OR any special place of their choosing. They can even take an extra one to give away to a friend. It is a simple way to evangelize and spread the good news that "JESUS IS LORD." People can and have carried crosses to several states and even a few to Canada.
Crosses are made in a large shed from May through August. A great group of volunteers meet every Tuesday morning at about 8:30 am, rain or shine. Wood is cut, the 2 parts are painted, and then assembled with a wooden stake for the ground.
We have established about 10 distribution sites around Southeastern Wisconsin. We place a wooden stand with approx. 20 crosses each week at each site. Distribution sites include churches, gas stations, thrift stores, and restaurants. To date, over 20,000 crosses have been made and given away. If anyone is interested in helping with this ministry, please feel free to contact Bob at 262-490-4624 or the church office at 262-593-2380.
God is good! All the time!
